Who Is Lewis le Fou? From a Charlevoix Basement to a Sold-Out Centre Vidéotron

Who is Lewis le Fou? The Charlevoix streamer behind a 56,525-viewer Twitch record, his YouTube crew and his November 21 rematch against Olivier Primeau.

November 2022. An 18-year-old from Charlevoix is on day 30 of a Twitch stream that never stops: he eats on camera, sleeps on camera, and about 10,000 people a day drop in to watch. Three and a half years later, the same guy fills the Colisée de Laval, pulls 56,525 people onto his channel at the same time, and sells 18,250 tickets for his next hockey game in six hours. His name is Lewis. Quebec calls him Lewis le Fou. And no, the nickname is not a coincidence.

  • About 139K followers on Twitch, 158K on Instagram and 45K on YouTube

Who is Lewis le Fou?

Lewis comes from Charlevoix, a region better known for its cliffs and its river views than for its Twitch stars. He started streaming from a basement and built a loyal community, "La Terrifiance", one chat message at a time. His real name? He keeps it to himself. Online, he is simply Lewis, and that has been more than enough.

The moment that put him on the map came in the fall of 2022: a subathon, a live stream that keeps running as long as new subscriptions keep coming in. According to 98.5, he was approaching 30 straight days on air, close to the Quebec record of 31. For an 18-year-old, it was equal parts endurance test and reality show.

The YouTube side: food quests and a famous friend group

Off Twitch, Lewis turns Montreal into a tasting menu. The concept is simple: grab a few friends, rank everything, crown a winner. His most-watched video, the hunt for Montreal's best poutine, brings along Shahin, Alex The Lucky, Mathis and One Way's own Alexane Pelletier. 185,000 views later, the debate about the winner is still going in the comments.

If that crew sounds familiar, it is because they share a lot of screens. Lewis also shows up in some of the biggest videos of his friend Shahin. Curious about him? Read our portrait: who is Shahin Ouest.

Lewis abroad: Japan, France and a lot of baguettes

In 2025, Lewis took the show on the road. First Japan, with a vlog of his first trip and a mandatory taste test of Japanese McDonald's. Then France, where he compared McDo with Cocotte and, judging by the photos, never let go of his bread.

What makes these trips work is the same thing that works on Twitch: Lewis never plays the tourist expert. He discovers things at the same time as his audience, and he says out loud exactly what everyone at home is thinking.

April 4, 2026: the night Quebec took over Twitch

Then came hockey. On April 4, 2026, at the Colisée de Laval, Lewis's team of creators faced Olivier Primeau's. More than 4,000 people in the stands, a 4 to 3 win in overtime on a goal by Max Lavoie, and, according to the organizers, about 70,000 people watching live on Twitch and YouTube. Streams Charts lists the peak on his channel that night at 56,525 simultaneous viewers, his all-time record.

Lewis, on Instagram, the day after the win

"ON A GAGNÉ": Lewis's post the day after the Colisée de Laval.

In the same post, he wrote that his channel had been number one on Twitch that night, ahead of the biggest creators in the world. For a guy who started in a basement, that is quite the plot twist.

One Way's take
Why brands should watch Lewis closely

Lewis once shared that a TikTok video with 36 million cumulative views paid him about US$1,413. Platform payouts are thin. What creators like him really sell is attention, live, in formats people choose to watch for hours. That is exactly what brand partnerships are built on.

The headlines: François Lambert, Miami and Roxane Bruneau

Being this visible comes with turbulence. In late May 2026, businessman François Lambert publicly dismissed Lewis as useless. Lewis answered in a video, saying he was disappointed, especially since he had bought Lambert's products to support him. Singer Roxane Bruneau jumped in on Lewis's side, and her video passed 200,000 views in half a day.

In August 2026, he left a Miami "streamerfest" early, along with several other Quebec creators, and posted a message distancing himself from another participant's behaviour. Short statement, no interview, back home. A clear line, drawn quickly.

Next up: the Centre Vidéotron

Primeau wanted revenge, and he gets it on Saturday, November 21 at 2 p.m. at the Centre Vidéotron in Quebec City. All 18,250 tickets sold out in six hours. For the rematch, Lewis rebuilt his team like a real coach: he plays on the first line with Max Lavoie, his April hero, and Xavier Ladouceur, and spread his other big names across the lineup.
