Lewislefou Tryout on October 17: The 12 Invitees and 2 Open Spots Before the Primeau Rematch

On Saturday, October 17, Lewislefou picks the last 2 players of his team for the rematch against Olivier Primeau at the Centre Vidéotron. Invitees, lineup, stakes.

On Saturday, October 17, Lewislefou opens the doors of his team one last time before the rematch against Olivier Primeau. Two spots, not one more. The rest of the lineup is already built, and the applications were reviewed live on Twitch on October 11. Here is who is invited, which spots are up for grabs, and why this tryout matters almost as much as the game itself.

The 30-second version
  • Lewislefou's official team tryout takes place on Saturday, October 17.
  • Only 2 spots are open: a winger on the third line and a 5th player on the development line.
  • 12 creators are officially invited, including Daveinfosport, PURE WHYL and Chelplayer, the masked man.
  • Whoever makes it plays the rematch against Olivier Primeau on November 21 at the Centre Vidéotron, in front of 18,250 people.

The context

Why this tryout matters so much

On April 4, at the Colisée de Laval, Lewis's team beat Olivier Primeau's 4 to 3 in overtime. Max Lavoie scored twice, including the winner 3:52 into overtime. According to the organizers, 50,000 people watched live on Twitch and 20,000 on YouTube, and the event raised $30,000 for community organizations.

Primeau promised revenge. It happens on Saturday, November 21 at 2 p.m. at the Centre Vidéotron in Quebec City. According to Noovo Moi, all 18,250 tickets sold out in six hours. In other words, the two players picked on Saturday go from a local rink to one of the biggest hockey stages in Quebec.

Our take
For a creator, a spot on this team is worth more than a sponsorship deal: it means exposure to tens of thousands of people, live, in a format the audience already loves.

The October 11 stream

Lewis sorted the applications live

Instead of choosing behind closed doors, Lewis turned the selection into an event. On October 11, he reviewed the applications live on his Twitch channel, with a replay on YouTube. Two names were also announced during the stream: Meeko, a French rapper, and Antoine Giguère.

The open spots

Lewis's lineup, and the two holes to fill

The big change is how the talent is spread out. In April, Lewis, Shahin and Alex The Lucky played on the same line. This time, Lewis splits them up so the team is more balanced from line to line. He will play with Max Lavoie, his April 4 hero, and Xavier Ladouceur, the guy who climbed Everest. The two open spots are on the third line, next to Alex The Lucky and Simpota, and on the development line.

Our take
Splitting up your three best forwards is a coach's decision, not a streamer's. Lewis wants to win the game, not just the show.

The invitees

The 12 creators invited to the October 17 tryout

Here is the list of official invitees announced for Saturday. Several already make hockey content, which promises a tougher tryout than in March. Tap a name to see their account.

In net, Mathy Tessier remains the team's goalie. He earned his spot in a tryout streamed live in March in front of more than 5,000 viewers. A second goalie could be added, but nothing is confirmed.

Marketing expert opinion
What Lewis's tryout teaches brands
By Redge Olibrice, SEO Director and Editor-in-Chief at One Way
1
Recruiting has become content. Lewis turned a simple selection into three events: the application stream, the tryout, then the game. Each step builds anticipation and keeps the community engaged five weeks before game day.
2
Scarcity creates value. Two spots, an arena sold out in six hours: every invitee who posts their tryout rides Lewis's momentum. For a creator, that is a showcase no ad budget can buy.
3
Creator hockey is a real media channel. Our team covered the April 4 game at the Colisée de Laval, where Stevens Dorcelus, represented by One Way, played on Primeau's side. These events gather a young, engaged audience brands struggle to reach elsewhere. Talk to our team if your brand wants in.

What to watch on Saturday

Three things to follow: who wins the third line spot next to Alex The Lucky and Simpota, whether a hockey creator like Daveinfosport or PURE WHYL stands out, and whether Lewis names a second goalie. For the full lineup, player by player, read our Team Lewislefou guide.
