Lexa, Frédérick Roy and Shanika join Olivier Primeau, Shatter joins Lewislefou: the full recap of the October 17 tryout at the Centre Vidéotron.
The last pieces of the puzzle are in place. On Saturday, October 17, the Centre Vidéotron hosted the official tryout for the Lewislefou vs Olivier Primeau rematch: one rink, two captains, dozens of hopefuls and only a handful of jerseys to hand out. Five weeks before facing nearly 18,000 people, here is who made the cut, who caught the captains' eye, and what the day says about the game to come.
- Olivier Primeau picked streamer Lexa for his content creators line and former pro hockey player Frédérick Roy for his official lineup.
- Primeau also drafted Shanika, a creator who makes hockey, ski and golf content.
- Lewislefou picked Twitch streamer Shatter for his development line.
- Because Lewis won the first game, he had first pick. The rematch is on November 21 at the Centre Vidéotron.
What each captain was looking for
The two captains did not arrive with the same shopping list. Olivier Primeau needed four players: two to complete his first three lines, and two more for his line of less experienced content creators. Lewislefou only had two holes to fill: one forward on his third line, and one player for his development line, alongside Gurky, Cocotte, AchilleFPS and Antho le petit homme.
- 2 players for the first three lines
- 2 players for the content creators line
- 1 forward for the third line
- 1 player for the development line
Every player on the ice was competing for both teams at once. It was a true melting pot: a strong shift could land you with Lewis just as easily as with Primeau.

Inside the Centre Vidéotron, from the locker room to the shootout
The live stream opens with Lewis arriving at the Centre Vidéotron with part of his team. He heads straight to the locker room to meet Eliezer Sherbatov, the former professional player who coaches him, and the players about to compete. Gaël Comtois is also on site to make sure the day runs smoothly. Olivier Primeau then joins Lewis and Sherbatov to go over the program.
The format is confirmed on the spot: a series of drills run by Sherbatov, followed by a shootout. And since Lewis won the first game, he gets to pick his players first.

Familiar faces and the profiles that stood out
Fans recognized plenty of names on the ice: Robin Messier, Samuel Haas, Danovick Pitre, streamer Lexa and TikToker Chelplayer, whose face is still hidden behind his mask.

From the first drills, Primeau showed a clear interest in two people: Shanika, a creator who makes content around hockey, ski and golf, and Frédérick Roy, the Quebec actor and former professional hockey player. On his side, Lewis kept an eye on three profiles in particular: JS, Ced Couture and Thom Cusson.
Who made the cut
At the end of the day, the captains made their calls. Primeau went with three names, Lewis with one.
