Who Is Maude Lavoie? Hairstylist, Mom and the Entrepreneur Behind Maude.L l'Atelier

Who is Maude Lavoie? Hairstylist since 16, OD Grèce alum, Jackson's mom and owner of Maude.L l'Atelier in Saint-Hubert. Her story, on her birthday.

Some people discover their calling. Maude Lavoie was practically born into hers: her mother is a hairstylist, and Maude walked into kindergarten with a perm. Thirty years later, she runs her own salon, raises a little boy who steals every one of her Instagram posts, and has a community of more than 187,000 people who feel like they know her. Today, October 15, she celebrates her birthday. Here is the story of the woman behind the ponytails.

  • Revealed to Quebec on Occupation Double Grèce in 2018
  • Mom of Jackson, born in June 2021, the true star of her feed
  • Owner of Maude.L l'Atelier in Saint-Hubert, opened in fall 2025
  • 187K followers on Instagram, part of the One Way family since September 2026

Who is Maude Lavoie?

Hair runs in the family. Maude earned her diploma at 16, then spent a decade in other people's salons, learning the craft chair by chair. In early 2019, Le Journal de Chambly still described her simply as a hairstylist from Chambly, back behind the chair barely a week after leaving television. That detail says a lot: the spotlight never replaced the scissors.

Her signature? The licked ponytail, sleek and polished, so precise it became her calling card. Clients come for the cut, and stay for the conversation.

Occupation Double Grèce: the season that changed everything

In 2018, Maude joined Occupation Double Grèce. Week after week, the show drew between 767,000 and 924,000 viewers, and her life changed overnight: her Instagram went from about 1,000 followers to 120,000 by the time she left, then past 205,000 a few weeks later, according to Le Journal de Chambly.

She called the experience intense and said she would not do it again. What she did instead was smarter: she kept her audience by staying exactly who she was. No reinvention, no character. Just Maude.

Jackson, the real star of the account

Her Instagram bio says it all, and the first line is not about her: "Jackson's mom." Her son was born in June 2021, and since then, her feed has become a diary of small, real moments. Apple picking in the fall. Matching outfits. A first day of school that, by her own admission, stressed mommy far more than the little one.

That honesty is exactly why people stay. She shares motherhood the way it is: tender, funny, sometimes chaotic, and always with a lot of love.

Maude.L l'Atelier: the dream with her name on the door

In September 2025, after weeks of hints, she revealed her secret project: her own salon. She wanted something "next level", in her own image. The name, Maude.L l'Atelier, plays on the words "model" and "atelier". And it is a family affair: her mother followed her trainings, and her sister handles the administrative side.

"The beginning of a beautiful story": the reveal of Maude.L l'Atelier, September 2025.

At the salon, she trains a young team in her way of seeing things. And her famous licked ponytail now has its own trio of products, created with Espace K and sold online and in the salon.

One Way's take
Why brands trust Maude

Maude only partners with brands she actually uses. When she recommends something, her community knows it already lives in her bathroom, her salon or her kitchen. That is why collaborations like her recent Philips Sonicare campaign with Jean Coutu feel natural instead of staged. Credibility is not something you buy. It is something you build, one honest post at a time.

Welcome to the family

In September 2026, Maude officially joined One Way. For us, it was an easy yes: a creator who is a professional in her field, an entrepreneur who built something real, and a mom who shares her life with warmth and humour. Since then, she has already brought her touch to campaigns with HelloFresh and Jean Coutu x Philips Sonicare, all visible on our projects page.
