A chalet, a river and almost no cell service: in her new YouTube vlog, Alexane Pelletier tries to truly unplug with her friends. Here's why you should watch.
A chalet, a river, a few close friends and almost no cell service. In her new YouTube video, "48h en forêt avec mes amies ! (on vient de la ville)", released October 7, Alexane Pelletier tries the one thing most city people keep postponing: actually unplugging.
A girls' weekend that almost didn't happen
On paper, the plan was simple: a big group, a cabin in the woods, a few days away from routines and screens. In reality, the cancellations piled up at the last minute. Only the most loyal stayed in: Isabelle Labrecque and Jérôme, whom Alexane picks up in the very first minutes of the video.
Then came the plot twist. Aly Brassard, who was also supposed to sit this one out, changed her mind and decided to join them after all. A smaller crew than planned, and possibly a better weekend because of it.
A river, falling leaves and zero notifications
Direction: the Laurentians, in a chalet overlooking the river, right in the middle of fall colours. The challenge is clear: breathe, slow down and put the phone away. Easy to say when you live in the city and create content for a living. We won't tell you if she pulled it off. You have to see it.
Back in the city, and a role she never really clocks out of
After the forest, it's back to Montreal for a day with her friend Mahée. A part of the video every parent will relate to: even without her baby in her arms, Alexane is never fully off duty as a mom.
Two cameras, one weekend
Bonus for the curious: Isabelle Labrecque filmed the getaway too, and her vlog is already on her channel. On her side: cozy dinners at the chalet, a day in the village of Tremblant and a hike she describes as "practically rock climbing." Watching both is like living the same weekend from two different angles.
