Marcus Villeneuve in Paris for Céline Dion's Comeback, Dressed by Quebec

One Way hairstylist Marcus Villeneuve flew to Paris on a whim for Céline Dion's return to the stage, wearing three Quebec brands that truly fit him.

In late September, Marcus Villeneuve did what plenty of Céline Dion fans only dream about: packed a bag in a hurry and caught a flight to Paris. The destination: the singer's big return to the stage after more than six years away from the crowd. What makes the trip worth telling is also how he shared it: with local brands, chosen because they fit who he is, with no contract involved.

The 30-second version
  • Marcus Villeneuve, hairstylist to Véronique Cloutier, Maripier Morin, Marilou and Pézie Beaudin, flew to Paris on a whim.
  • He went to see Céline Dion, back on stage at Paris La Défense Arena after more than six years away.
  • In his posts: a Five Studio jacket and cap, a Simons Homme look and a Lambert bag. Three Quebec brands.
  • None of those mentions were paid. That is exactly what makes them valuable.

The impulse

A ticket to see Céline

Marcus did not plan this trip months ahead. The idea came fast, the decision even faster. For a Quebec City hairstylist who splits his weeks between his salon and TV sets, going to see Céline in Paris was as much a pilgrimage as a party.

The comeback

Why this show matters so much

In 2022, Céline Dion announced she has stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological condition that affected her voice and forced her to cancel her tour. On September 12, 2026, she opened her run of shows at Paris La Défense Arena in front of 35,000 people, starting with "On ne change pas". A song title that could not have been better chosen.

The look

Five Studio: Quebec in leather and wool

For Paris, Marcus went with Five Studio's Vintage Leather Jacket and Melton Cap. The clothing and jewelry brand was founded in Quebec in 2017 by Frédérick Robichaud and Jérémy Dumont. Understated, well cut pieces that age well. Exactly the style you would expect from someone whose job is making other people look their best.

The signature

Simons Homme: a Quebec City house, just like him

Back home, Marcus posted a reel with Simons, styled by Sophie Michaud Bélanger, with a caption that sums up the relationship: "Simons dresses me. She gets me". The connection is natural: Simons was born in Quebec City, the same city where Marcus built his salon and his career.

Lambert: travelling light

Before he even left, Marcus set the tone with a simple reel: "Voyager léger, @sacslambert" (travelling light). Lambert is a Montreal vegan leather bag brand founded by Mélissa Lambert. Practical, local, confident: the right bag for a trip decided at the last minute.

A Quebec City creator, a Quebec icon on a Paris stage, and three local brands travelling with him. Quebec culture went international, without a media budget.

What Marcus's trip teaches brands
By Redge Olibrice, SEO Director and Editor-in-Chief at One Way
1
Relevance comes before reach. A creator who already wears your brand is more convincing than a bigger audience discovering it at the same time as their followers.
2
An unpaid mention reveals real affinity. When a creator names a brand with no deal in place, that is a strong signal: the collaboration has already started, it just needs structure.
3
Numbers are a compass, not a destination. Followers and reach help you find your bearings, but they do not replace the basic question: do this creator and my brand tell the same story? Talk to our team to find that match.
