On September 4, Quebec-based company Mécanique Northerm officially launched its collaboration with the creative agency One Way to produce a video marking the company’s 15th anniversary.
Rather than creating a traditional promotional video, the objective of the project was to develop a symbolic and story-driven film that would highlight the company’s journey, the people behind its success, and the key moments that shaped its growth over the years.
A Video Production Focused on the Company’s Story
For this project, the One Way production team filmed directly at Mécanique Northerm’s offices, capturing a series of interviews with the company’s leadership.
The video features David Foisy, President and Partner of Mécanique Northerm, alongside Jean-Marc Lacroix, Vice-President and Partner. Through their conversation, they reflect on the origins of the company, the milestones that defined its development, and the values that continue to guide the organization.
The discussion also touches on more challenging periods, including the COVID-19 pandemic, and how the company successfully navigated those uncertain times while maintaining its commitment to its employees and partners.
Cinematic Footage Filmed Inside the Workshop
In addition to the interviews, the production team captured several cinematic beauty shots inside the company’s workshop, offering viewers a glimpse into the technical expertise and daily operations behind the business.
These slow-motion sequences of tools, machines, and workspaces bring a strong visual dimension to the film, what Stevens Dorcelus (OneWay's founder) often refers to as the “money shot” of a video production.
The film also features interviews with members of the workshop team, including Érik Magne, Project Manager and Partner, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and teamwork within the company.
