Canadiens at Stars tonight, October 29, in Dallas: 8 p.m. ET puck drop, TV channel, starting goalie, projected lineup, injuries and keys to the game.
The Canadiens go for a fourth straight win tonight in Dallas. Puck drops at 8 p.m. ET at American Airlines Center, on RDS in French and TSN2 in English. It is the last stop of a four game road trip, and the Habs face the stingiest defence in the NHL. Here is everything you need before puck drop.
- 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. in Dallas), American Airlines Center
- On TV: RDS (French) and TSN2 (English)
- Canadiens 7-3-2, on a three game win streak. Stars 7-4-1.
- Jacob Fowler is expected to rest after his 46 save shutout. Jakub Dobeš should start.
- Still no Nick Suzuki, out with an upper body injury.

What time is the Canadiens game tonight, and on what channel?
The game starts at 8 p.m. Eastern, 7 p.m. local time in Dallas. In Quebec, you can watch it in French on RDS. In English, it airs on TSN2.
Who starts in goal?
Jacob Fowler has been outstanding: 6-1-0, 1.54 goals against average, .942 save percentage and two shutouts, including a 46 save shutout in Tuesday's 2-0 win in St. Louis. He is not expected to start tonight, and Jakub Dobeš should get the call. In the Dallas net, expect Jake Oettinger (6-2-1, .929).
The Canadiens' projected lineup
Projected lines according to Inside The Rink. Check the warmup for last minute changes.
Who is out?
Montreal: captain Nick Suzuki (upper body) is still out, along with Ivan Demidov and Sam Montembeault, both on injured reserve. Dallas: Esa Lindell, Kyle Capobianco, Radek Faksa and Matt Duchene are out.
Three keys to the game
- Breaking the best defence in the league. Dallas allows only 2.00 goals per game, first in the NHL.
- The power play. Montreal ranks 29th (11.4%), against the second best penalty kill in the league (92.9%). One power play goal could decide it.
- Scoring without Suzuki. The top line has cooled off since his injury. Caufield and Slafkovsky need to find the net.
Players to watch

Where the two teams stand
The Canadiens (7-3-2, 16 points) won their last three: in Chicago, at the Heritage Classic in Winnipeg, then 2-0 in St. Louis on Tuesday. The Stars (7-4-1, 15 points) are coming off a 5-1 home loss to New Jersey. Last season, the two teams split their series 1-1.
