Richardson Zéphir Unveils Punch Créole at Its Media Premiere

Pierre-Mercure Hall in Montreal hosted last night the media premiere of Punch Créole, the new stand-up show by comedian Richardson Zéphir. Presented to an audience made up of figures from the cultural and media spheres, the evening marked the official launch of a project where humor intersects with identity and the artist’s personal journey.
Several guests from the industry were in attendance, including Patrick Groulx, Ricardo, Ludivine Reding, Meek Guerrier, and Stevens Dorcelus, as well as representatives from the agency One Way and various other cultural personalities. From the red carpet onward, the event highlighted the importance of support within Quebec’s inter-artistic community.
A Show Rooted in Identity and Everyday Life

On stage, Richardson Zéphir delivers a series of routines inspired by his own experiences, humorously tackling themes such as couple life, Creole expressions, and his past professional experiences in Montreal. The show also takes on a more reflective dimension as the comedian addresses historical and social topics, particularly those related to the enslavement of Black people, all handled with an accessible and nuanced approach.
Accompanied on stage by Jean-Simon Tessier on sound design, Punch Créole benefits from a carefully crafted staging that supports both the rhythm and the message of the performance. Organized by the Entourage group, the launch stood out for both its smooth execution and the warm reception from the audience.
Sold out for this media premiere, the performance concluded with a musical finale that extended the applause from the nearly 600 audience members in attendance. With an upcoming date in Brossard already announced as sold out, Richardson Zéphir will continue his tour across several regions of Quebec through June 9.
